Hank and Karen Inman of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, were passing through Southwest Louisiana recently and stopped in New Iberia to catch the last three innings of a Notre Dame baseball game against Catholic High of New Iberia. A life-long friend of author Gaylon White, Hank wanted to meet Coach Cook personally to see if he's as amazing as White says he is. Hank confirmed Coach Cook is the real deal.

Coach Cook relived the Good Old Days at Crowley High last Sunday with some of the Gent players that gave birth to the legend of Louie Cook. Coach Cook and Shane Garrett, who put the giddy-up in Crowley's offense in 1985 & 1986, piling up yardage and touchdowns by running, catching passes and returning punts & kickoffs. He went on to star for Texas A&M and play briefly for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL.

Earlier this season Coach Cook could've used Collin Soceno, his first kicker at Notre Dame in 1997.
Coach Cook and Kirk Landry had plenty to talk about at Uncle T's recently. In 1986, Landry rushed for 1,040 yards and 15 TDs, leading Crowley High to a 10-2 record.

It's no surprise that Ethan Williams, 12-year-old grandson of Karen Berken, long-time administrative assistant to Coach Louie Cook, is the first to submit a photo of him holding a copy of Coach of a Lifetime.
When Ethan heard about the proposed book two years ago, he suggested the title, Cook's Book -- A Recipe for Life.
"Big E is always thinking ahead," Coach Cook told Karen.
Not to be outdone, Karen has submitted a photo of her reading the book with her dog, Lucy, looking on.
Dr. David Berken, Karen's son and an orthopedic surgeon, played at Notre Dame from 2000-2003 and went on to start four years at right guard for Rice University.
